I'll start by saying that I am ignorant here but guessing.
How much short are you, 1/4" or so? Is your damper the molded
rubber block with the 4 aluminum triangles with bolt holes, or
is it just the flat reinforced rubber, sort of like a tire sidewall?
Can you adjust the upper column a bit endwise?
How about some kinda spacer?
