did Jiffy Lube screw up my air filter or AMM? 200 1988

I should go back to changing the oil myself. To make a long story short, I went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, they of course tried the upsell, removed my air filter to show me it was dirty, and then could not seem to figure out how to put it back. Finally the manager had to assist and after some wrestling they go it back together. Now the car seems to run just a tad hotter than it did before, and I'm wondering if they screwed something up. I searched the archives and saw a lot of warnings concerning messing with the air filter and possibly screwing up the AMM. Am I being paronoid or am I going to have to take steps to ensure everying is ok? I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for, and since I don't know how it was to begin with, I'm not sure talking the air filter out again will help. This is for a 88 240 and I live in the Northwest. Thanks.
