Throttle Body Cleaning completed 200 1988

Took the TB off this 180K bad boy for the first time since the car was new. Didn't expect it to look shiny and new, but was really surprised that it was so gunky inside. Like someone been's throwing old cooking grease in there. Really was an easy job and even took the chance that I could reuse the gasket, which worked out. The one thing I never look forward to is wrestling with the air filter box. I think if Volvo would have taken just a little more time they could have made the assembly UN-removable. Shoot, it's right next to it now. Anyway, with the throttle body clean I have lost the stumble that had developed when coming to a stop from 30-50mph. Even surprised me with a little renewed power. So, if you haven't looked inside your TB lately go ahead at your next opportunity and give it a good cleaning.
