How do I get this stupid thing to fold up?

It appears that the seatbottom is supposed to fold forward, and then the seatback folds down. I know where the release handles are on the seatback, but I can't get the seatbottom to fold forward. Is there a release lever for the seat bottom? I've felt around all over the place and can't seem to find one. Simply pulling harder on the seat won't work either (Removal of my Plymouth's backseat simply requires a mix of finesse and brute force)

I'm frustrated because I can't find a diagram of the seat in either my Chilton or Haynes manual to see if there's a trick to the rear seat. This is a very simple matter, but its managed to frustrate me for the better part of an afternoon.
