'T' nipple inline w/ EGR---check valve? 900

I have a 91 945SE (turbo), and this weekend I replaced all of the vacuum lines associated with the EGR setup. While doing so, I broke the brittle tee which is in-line with the vacuum lines. The dealership parts computer refers to this only as a 'nipple'. Does this nipple incorporate a check valve? The dealer didn't have it in stock, so they ordered it. They aren't sure if it has a check valve, and the computer description doesn't specify either. As a backup until the proper part comes in, I have installed a universal tee fitting. Now that I have done this, I lose vacuum to my dash vents (the air is re-routed to the defroster). I replaced the servo under the dash last fall, and everything worked fine until I put in this universal tee. Any help on this one?

Thanks,

Greg
