cleaned the throttle body now I can't set the throttle switch 'no click' 700 1991

I cleaned all the gunk from inside the throttle body and I may have gotten some cleaner in the switch. I reassembled and set the switch back to the previous setting (I marked it). When I started the car it idled at 2500 rpms so I tried to reset the switch as outlined in the Chiltons manual and on the FAQs section of this website. I can not hear any clicks when I rotate this baby. How loud is this click ? Maybe I can remove this switch an try to clean it ? (contacts or whatever) how do is this done?
Any suggestions greatly appreated, thanks
