Control arm stay identification 700 1990

My 1990 740 needs new cone bushings on the front suspension stays. It's my understanding that there are several different stay lengths used. It's also my understanding that all use the same cone bushings, except for the 388.5mm stays, which require special bushings. How can I identify if my car has these special stays or if the standard bushings will work? The old bushings probably have 100k miles on them and there's not visible part numbers on them. Any suggestions on using the IPD poly bushings vs. oem style. What is the oem part number? Thanks
