1994 940 dash compared to 1994 850 900 1994

my 94 850 has a digital clock and temperature display. my 940 has a smaller temp display on the bottom left of the dash. the 850 of the same year lights up it's tempurature display on the dash. i bought my 940 and it never did that. is the light blown out or did it ever light up? seems odd that the 850 of the same year (even the 93's) lit up but the 940 never did. anybody have a 940 that lights the temp display at night?
