Hey Brickers,
A friend of mine has an 81 240 in need of a new Auto Tranny. He went to his mechanic, and was quoted $2000 canadian for the fix, (approx $1300 usd). I think this is way to much, and that the mechanic is not interested in doing the job, so is over quoting? What do you think. His Volvo is definatly worth keeping not much rust GLT version wagon, and a strong motor. If he grabs a tranny from one of the local pick and pulls, what is the usual labor for this job? Any information and feedback would be appreciated
