Could I have a starter problem? 200 1988

Do you mean the no start is the engine cranking over but not running, or the starter will not even engage? I think starter problems are rare but more likely a bad cable from the battery to the starter or perhaps even the coil may be bad. Although that is rare with modern Bosch coils, I had a bad coil years ago that caused a no-start in wet weather, although the engine cranked and cranked. Either of those possibilities are much cheaper than a starter replacement, especially if you do not need it.
