Engine Computer outlet? 700 1988

On top of my engine on the driver's side exactly above the oil trap (i.e. the third cyclinder), i have a strange looking connection. It appears to be a computer outlet of some kind. Has four holes for spade connectors, but only third of them are filled with the female part. Its bolted to the valve cover with one of the top bolts. It also has a little cap that snaps on top of it. Anybody know what this is for? Could this be the computer outlet? Can I run code tester through here? I thought they only had those on 89 and above, ans i have a 88. So...
