Difficult to find intermittent problem 700 1988

I had a similiar problem with old 240, I would be driving and suddenly the car would just die. Sometimes it would restart itself and sometimes I would have to put it nuetral and restart it myself, also sometimes it wouldnt start for a few minutes. Had me stumped, everything seemed to be fine. It turned out that it was the computer, replaced it and the problem never came back. At first I was like Ohh no a computer$$$$, but Then I just got a used one Out of a junk that matched up with mine for practically nothing.

It may not be your problem, but it's something to check.

good luck, let us know if you fix it.
