Is 740 A/C good enough for Tucson, AZ 700

I am looking to purchase 1992 740 N/A. The A/C is currently not working, and I plan to recharge it with R12.

My question is, with R12, is the 740 A/C, serviced to factory specs, going to be good enough for Arizona? I am hoping someone that lives in this region has some personal experience. It's just fact that some automakers have better A/C than others, and the people that live in the Southwest or humid Southeast know these differences.

I'm intrigued by the reliability and ease of maintenence of the 740., but the A/C is going to make or break this car. Thanks for any advice.
