240 GL Won't Start 200 1984

1984 240

Car has not started regularly since I first got it after recent engine and AMM replacement. Car sat idle for about 6 months

It seems like no fuel is being delivered to fuel injectors when attempting to start

I have not changed the fuel filter, but added dry gas and filled with premium gas after several stalls and rough running spots occurred when I first got it after engine replacement..

I changed out the fuel pump relay at passenger side kick, but no improvement

Under normal circumstances, when you try to start this car, you can here the “click” of the fuel pump relay and the whirr of the fuel pump. When the engine fails to start, I can hear neither the relay “click” nor the fuel pump whirr.

Car will not start without “priming” now, and only after a lot of starter rotation and multiple attempts. I prime it by jumping circuits 5 & 7 at the fuse box to get the fuel pump running. After many attempts MAYBE it will start.

Once it starts, it runs well.
