A/C doesn't work, need more advice 700 1992

Oy gevalt... 80 degrees already. Wanna trade temps?

The suction accumulator is the aluminum tank on the firewall. Often incorrectly referred to as the "receiver dryer"--which doesn't exist on a 700.

Since the pressostat is fine, there must be a problem elsewhere in the system. I'm sure a matter of methodical troubleshooting will highlight the problem without too much trouble.

You can get a new accumulator at most car supply places. Actually, often the Volvo dealer has them for the same price as local car shops. Price: around $50, sometimes even less than that. Put it this way... I went with a less expensive Parker unit last year. It functions perfectly, but it BARELY fits in the car, and I saved a whopping seven dollars. I would've coughed up the seven dollars for Volvo's piece if I'd known that when I started.
