Engine stops when Reversing the Car 700 1991

I tried to moving the car out of a park lot, but when I reverse it,
the engine chokes and eventually lost power and shut down.
tried several times the same result, but 20 min. later I tried again
this time I just pushes the fuel padel hard when I reverse the car,
so it moves like without any power(but the engine is still working)
after I get it out of there and change to Driving the car is just fine
again.
the car was parked at a slope, so I need to reverse it upon
the slope, is this the cause?
