tailgate lock removal 900

My master key has been seized by the tailgate lock and won't release from the lock cylinder. I removed the tailgate pannel to expose the lock tumbler/cylinder. Removed the connecting rods bracket, and the u clip from the cylinder, but still am unable to remove the lock cylinder from the tailgate. Does anyone know how this is done? Also pushed in two, what looked like more retaining pieces into the cylinder itself, and still no luck. I checked the FAQ, and searched past posts, but the best I found was to hit it out with a hammer. This idea doesn't appeal to me, there must be a right way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
