I am not a race car driver, volvo is not ferrari, now I need a new rim. Thoughts? 700

Despite my IPD sways, braces, etc, I smashed my 740t into the curb due to understeer on a wet street. Yes, I am a moron.

I am now the proud own of one dead Draco rim. Hopefully, that is all that was wrecked.

I know this topic has been discussed, but I would still like to hear ya'lls opinions.

Anyway, I guess I am in the market for new ims. I have been to all the local junkyards and none have my rim. The only place in Austing that has them, wants 245 a piece. Yikes.

Everyone knows about the limited selection of rims available, tirerack.com only carried three. DiscountTire.com only has one. I like the ones from discount, the 16" Voxx MGRs. They retail for $149, of course larger rims mean new tires as well. So if I go with new rims and tires, I will be in for at least a grand.

So my question, aside from asthetics, what sort of handling gains will I see with a larger 16" rim? I am running Yokohama s-306 tires now, which I were told were good, but turned out to be awful. I was thinking of moving to Michelin roadhuggers.

I also have a line on a set of 16" Hydras for 550 plus shipping.

Please feel free to wax poetic on all things tire.
