Almost didnt make it home UPDATE...NOW DOESNT MOVE AT ALL 700 1989

In the last post from Sunday March 10, the car barely made it home, now it wont go anywhere. I tried to diagnose the problem today, but the car just cranks for around 45 sec then runs for about 30 sec VERY ROUGH at about 300 rpms, misfiring, and puffing all kinds of black smoke then just stalls out. While the car was barely running on about the 5th or 6th try,I was able to get out and disconnect the 3/4 or 1 in hose that goes from the back of the intake manifold to the fat air hose that connects to the TB, and that was the only way the car would stay running at about 1800rpms. As soon as I reconnect the hose, the idle drops back down to about 300rpms, eratic idle, lots of black smoke, then stalls.I ordered fuel pressure reg today along with fuel filter, spark plugs, dist cap & rotor, and both temp sending units that go in the head.I would like to nip this problem in the bud by doing whatever it takes to fix it once.I cannot thank the people enough who took their time out to read and answer my post and maybe one day I can help someone with a problem they are having. Any one with any input to this added twist to my seemingly growing problem is greatly appreciated.... 1000 thanks!
