Contact trigger points 140-160

If you are talking about the contact trigger points in the lower
part of the distributor, they have nothing to do with the ignition.
They are for the fuel injection, and carry almost no current.
If they are clean, old ones are as good as new ones.

Your ignition points in the top of the distributor are another
matter. They need to be good. I've worn out 2 complete distributors
in my 69 164 and I suspect maybe you have a similar problem.

Points need to be set with a dwell meter and should be around 40-45° dwell.
