rheostat installation q's 200 1987

Hello Bricksters,

I have an '87 240 DL with 116K miles. A week ago my instrument lights went out and it was followed by a bad smell. I determined that it was a bad rheostat so I ordered one from www.volvoworld.com. However, the rheostat that arrived looks different from the one I pulled out of my car even though I confirmed that I ordered the appropriate rheostat. Anyway my old one is a bit larger and has two male connectors on the back that are side by side. The new one I received has three male connectors, two of which are side by side and mounted perpendicular to the third one on the back of the rheostat. Anyway, could someone please help me out? As always, your input is greatly appreciated.
