Steering rack leak 740 700

I have lost all power steering oil through a corroded hydraulic pipe near the steering gear. It is one of the small pipes running along the rack. It seems a most unlikely place for general deterioration. However Volvo can supply a new pipe for £20 but as it threads through and round some of the fittings is it going to be difficult to fit? Anybody have any knowledge or experience? Thanks
