Power Trunk Release Wiring 200

I have a 1984 Volvo 240 DL. It does not have power trunk release or power antenna, but I am interested in insalling a power trunk release. There is one green wire going to the trunk that is split into two. One goes to the trunk light and the other goes to a female connection. On that same female connection is a black wire that goes toward the front of the car. The female connection is dangling in the trunk, not connected to anything. There is also a heavy gauge wire that goes to the front of the car with a conical connection at the end. It simply dead ends next to the spare tire. So my questions are:
1. Is the female connection most likely the connection for the power trunk release, and where would the black wire lead?
2. Did any DL Volvos come with a power trunk release, and might have there been one on my car, but then removed?
3. Or, did Volvo just put the wiring in place w/o the accesories?
Any help appreciated, Thanks!
