Oil Trap Potential Problem 700 1990

When I was cleaning the oil trap I may have disturbed the oil trap drain (the forbidden one). How do I know if it has in fact been disturbed and might need to pull oil pan to reset?? Will it not go back in?? Mine seems to sit on the flange fine. Do I have a problem?? 740T Engine
