B280f high speed misfire 700

Hello I just purchased a 1987 780 with a B280f. While cleaning the car I shampooed the engine(bad move in retrospect). This is when the problems started. while accelerating the engine is fine up to 2500 rpm after whichh it seems to cut out(under load or not). So I changed all the usual suspects(dist.cap, rotor, plugs) and sprayed the complete wiring harness with a moisture repellent meant for plug wires. All this gave me better response but still nothing above 2500rpm, and with a timing light it flickers when reved above 2500rpm. Please help before I swap b230f into this car. Ps the car has 140000 miles
