head gasket 700

I am preparing to replace the head gasket in my 1988 740 turbo wagon. The car runs well, but the prior owner said he had it tested and there was evidence of hydrocarbons in the coolant. The coolant looks ok, but there is a milky white substance on the inside of the filler cap, which according to other posts on this board is a sign of a bad head gasket. My question, is has anyone purchased one of the elring head gasket sets as opposed to buying all the necessary gaskets separately? If so, do you remember if the set had all the gaskets needed, such as the exhaust manifold gaskets? Since I have no experience with this repair I am trying to be prepared by buying all of the necessary parts before I start pulling things apart.
