Air Conditioning Clutch/Compressor Seized... 200 1987

The air conditioning compressor seized today in my '87 244. I'm prepared to eliminate the A/C, so what's the best way to do this so that I can get my power steering back? (I know about having the A/C system drained professionally).

Why does the IPD A/C bypass kit only work on the B23 and earlier ('78-'84)? Is it a matter of belt size or belt alignment? Can I make this work on a B230?

I've read about mounting the power steering pump with a bracket from an early non-AC 240. Will this work on a B230?

Thanks!

-Michael
