outer tie rod end 200 1990

I bought a pair of outer ties rod ends and the steering boots. Is there supposed to be a ball stud on the outer tie rod end? (at least that is what is mentioned in pg 10-12 of the haynes manual).I did not get one when I bought the tie rod. There was also no description of a ball stud that goes over the tie rod end in the fcpgroton website.
Also the nut on the tie rod end does not go all the way in, so there has to be something else that goes in.

As the steering boot, can I clamp them with the regular round metal clamps that can be purchased in a regular auto store.

thanks
zakir
