240 won't start, pump relay clean, pump works...... Need Help! 200 1987

Hello,

Got this 87 240 wagon for my new wife (7/01/02), told her I know Volvos and said it would be a good car. I didn't lie to her, I have had a few Volvos and they are the greatest. But I am stumped on this one. It ran great when I got it for $800 with tags, tax, and all, but yesterday I started it (it had been running and warm) and it just quit. I pulled the coil wire, had spark, pulled the gas line and had pressure, but pump did not work. I jumped the pump from the battery and it worked fine. Checked the fuse under the hood, was good. Found the pump relay which is usually on drivers side under dash on other years, over on passengers side under dash. Sure enough it looked like it had gotten hot so I re-soldered. but still nothing. I jumped the fuel pump so it would run and tried to start the engine with no success. I am stumped, am I missing something???? I guess I don't know the ol Volvos as well as I thought I did! :-(

Thank You,
Uplink
