Carburettor engine (Zenith type) - Very Hard to start in the morning 200 1981

Dear bricksters,

I know the subject has been on this board numerous times but usually they deals with injectors, FPR, fuel filter, IAC motor, which my old car does not have.
My 244 runs with the Zenith carburettor.

Every morning I need to crank the car several times (about 15 sec each) before it fire up. Then it will shake and rattle quite a bit (about 2 minutes) before settling down to a constant purr. To avoid all those shaking I either pull the choke or step on the pedal hard to keep the engine running at higher rpm (about 2500)

Distributor cap is new, plug wires are new, spark plugs are new.

What could be wrong?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Laozong
