HELP ME PLEASE B280F TROUBLES 700 1987

Hello:

So it ran well until you washed it? The timing light flickering tells you that you have an electrical problem (not a surprising result, I guess). I would look closely at your ignition amplifier (or power stage) and your RPM reference sensor (on the bellhousing under the throttle body). Also, does it run better if you unplug the AMM (don't do it with the engine running)? Is your check engine light on? Water inside any of the fittings in the FI harness could also give you trouble I guess... It is theoretically possible that the pressure wash knocked off a vacuum line too-- perhaps the vacuum line to the distributor got blasted off and now it can no longer advance properly... Messed up induction sensor on wire #1?

I can't offer anything definitive, but I may have given you a few other things to look at...

Good luck-- let us know what fixes things! I had this happen once about 2 years ago with my B280F-- I hadn't washed anything-- it just did the same sort of thing. It resolved itself before I did anything about it, though...
