HELP!!! My clock fell on it's sword! 700 1985

Just the other day-3-15 I took my 85 760Turbo out for a ride only to discover that my clock (which had previously run flawlessly) had fallen on it's sword. I tried twice to reset it only to have it run for about 30 minutes and then die.
any thoughts/ideas would be welcome.
