gas cap pressure 200 1977

Okay, I got our 244 running real nice for the Mrs. Everything is tuned up, no oil comsuption, clean flame trap, etc. Now it is "her" car while I hunt for a good deal for another Volvo for me. Anyways, she goes to fill up the tank today (I have one of those red "volvo" gas caps), and unscrews it and there is ALOT of pressure that comes out. When I filled it up previously, I noticed it too. What's up with that? It seems odd.

Thanks in advance-

Joe HC
