87-740 fixing rear back door opener.

I thought I understood this thing, but I guess not.

The back door would open from the inside, but not the outside. The black plastic lever on the inside of the door was the problem. The little pin had broken or worked its way out.

I put it back together using a screw, and everything seemed ok, until I closed the door, then the door wouldnt work from the inside or out! What did I do wrong.

I managed to get the door open, but of course I broke the plastic lever in the process, and now have to make another trip to the junker. Ill have another go at it on the weekend.

All input is much appreciated.

Lawrence
