Model 240 wagon 1993, B-230F 200

Would appreciate advice on removing exhaust pipe nuts without breaking the studs. I have a leak in the front exhaust pipe, that is the one between the header(exhaust manifold) and catalytic converter.The leak appears to be near the elbow where the pipe makes a right angle from the down section.
