I just junked some non-Volvo pads. They juddered like fury when braking from 100 mph. Now perfect.

If you have found good pads that seem to work OK, can I suggest that you coat the BACKS of the pads with a thin layer of copper grease. Guaranteed fix for squealing. But make sure you don't get grease on the face of the pads or on the discs!!
