Cockeyed strut/mount??? 200

My car has the common (seems to be anyway) front end clunking sound. It seems to be loudest in the area of the driver's side strut. In the last year, I have replaced ball joints, tie rod ends and the rack - it's still there...

I happened to notice the other day that the top of my driver's side strut wasn't centered in the hole, unlike the passenger side which is dead center. I think it has shifted, but I'm not sure. Could this be a bad strut mount? The car is overdue for new struts anyway.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Jim
