Flame Trap 900 1992

Yeah, it has a flame trap. Silly question! I changed it and the rear main seal stopped leaking instantly. May have saved pulling the transmission to R & R the seal. This car has been dealer maintained for a little old lady professor since new. I would have thought the flame trap would have been serviced. The timing belt was changed only 5K back. If you are a novice Volvo owner get to know your flame trap. The flame trap and housing only cost seven dollars, but can cost you hundreds of dollars if it isn't maintained. Clean or replace it when you change your oil.
