Defunct Tranny over-ride switch? 200 1993

Hola Bricksters:
The tranny over-ride switch that is mounted just in front of the shift lever does not over-ride the "Park" setting, and I cannot move the shift lever unless the engine is on and the brake pedal is depressed. Does this mean the switch is a goner?
where can I buy a new one? Dealer only item? Or do the after market sellers (who support the brickboard) sell these?
Thanks for any help.
G.Lo.
