Weber DCOE linkage 1800 1972

I have a friend that tried installing a pair of these carbs and said they would not clear the fender on the 1800. He said that there is some type gasket/rubber spacing required so the heat from the manifold/block don't cook your carburators. Don't know if this is true but he showed me the carburators and they were brand new because he could not install them if I remember correctly. They do fit the 122's and 140's. Just thought you may want to check it out before you install them.
