Hi!
I have had something similar on my Volvo 745 GL 88
You probably dont believe this but just hear me out. 2 mechanics failed to solve it and I had bought a new starter and planned to change it when I started to think.
There are 2 + cables going from the battery. 1 goes to the starter (thick one) and one goes to the ignition key. Check that the connection is really good for both cables!
What happend to me was that when car was cold the cables were hard and the connection was good enough. When the car was warm to cables soften and there was no connection for the + ignition key cable.
/best of luck
