Oil leak 700 1990

My 740 GLE 16V got a oil leak and I am not sure if I need a special
sealant or regular(rtv) will work.Oil is coming out from the upper part
of the motor about 1 inch under the valve cover gasket,goes along the
engine and its real bad, I probably have to take the camshaft out and I dont know if those parts are put together with a special Volvo glue or regular sealant?
