Diagnosic unit blues 900 1990

My diagnostic unit has developed an interesting behaviour. When you press the test button the LED lights. It lights for as long as you press the button. i.e. press for a second, it lights during pressing for a second. Press for 5 seconds and it is light while pressing for 5 seconds. It does not flash codes after the 1 second press. Any ideas? this is for both number 2 and 6 sockets!
