86 240 Runs Hot 200 1986

Have a 86 240 wagon with 205,000 miles. When loaded up for family vacation and a hot day, this car runs really hot. No I do not push it, and yes I turn the AC off. Last time this happened, I unpacked the car, put some heavy stuff on the luggage rack and went on. This seemed to help (thinking was that maybe air was not circulating around the radiator properly due to possibility of rear end hanging too low). Any suggestions? Thanks.
