tranny swap 700 1990

A 1991 and a 1990 740 turbo should both have the same LH2.4 and ezk system, so it should not be a problem. Make sure that the flywheel and pressure plate (from the auto) have the same number of perimeter holes, and you should be good to go.

Another thuoght is the rear-end ratios. When you're done, your car will be quicker off the line than other M46 cars, and his car will be slower than other AW71 cars... (not a lot, but the ratios are different. won't make either car irritating...)

I've done this swap (well, half)on my 1990 780T: http://www.geocities.com/p_demeo_2000/conversion.html

p.s.- another thought: you'll have to swap radiators, as the auto car's has the plumbing for the tranny cooler in one end...
