Anyone know how to decipher B230ft engine block numbers? Sargent or Ringlee maybe? 1989

I cannot answer that. You will need to contact the dealer parts counter and see if the parts book shows the engine serial number at which the connecting rods were changed. Please let us know what you find out and also post it.

Do the chassis show the production date? A later production chassis is most likely to have the upgraded connecting rods. If I remember correctly, the rods were upgraded after the first couple of months of production.
