Timing problems 200 1989

Steve,
There was a post on this board a while back detailing a similar problem.
This one had a momentary missfire passing through a narrow rev band, 2700rpm I think.
In the end it turned out to be caused by a couple of teeth missing from the starter ring gear which upset the crank sensor readings. It might be an idea to take the starter off and carefully check the ring gear. This also fits in with the crank sensor fault reported by the diagnostics.
Might not be the problem but won`t cost anything to check.
If the trans. is an auto box, check the flex plate/ring gear runs true, they can bend and/or crack.
Good luck,Colin.
