Shifting from OD to 3rd by accident 200 1986

Hello Brickers,

My 86 240GL has a M46 with an overdrive. The overdrive seems to work ok but in the rare times that I forget to take it out of OD before shifting into 3rd my tranny "grinds" into gear. Is this a sign of weak syncros or does this happen to other 240's out there. Everything else seems fine it shifts smoothly on the way up and back down from 4th. I know that the obvious thing is to say never forget to hit the little button. But the truth is that approx. once or twice a month I forget and buzz my hand get a reminder.

Thanks Brickers

Brian
