Stepping on brakes starts door chime 200

Been trying to chase down a fuel pump/key switch/won't start/SOMETIMES electrical gremlin and I have a new one, I get the chime when I step on the brakes and a shorted out weak/bad ground lookin' flicker on the brakelights and the trunk. Anything ?... what caliper do you use for shooting a volvo? thanks, Ron
