B230F Timing belt - Tips or Suggestions? 200 1987

I am going to replace the timing belt on my 1987 245 (B230F engine)for the first time this weekend. I am planning on replacing the water pump and the three seals at the same time. My mechanic recommended replacing the crankshaft main seal housing gasket as well (as my car has over 200K). My question is, do I need to use a sealant on this gasket? My Haynes manual is characteristically silent on this issue.
Any tips or suggestions regarding this job? (ie timing belt and water pump)
It seems straightforward enough but perhaps I'm deluding myself.

I am buying all of the parts from fcpgroton.com. I have purchased parts from them before and other than packing problems was very satisfied. Has anyone else used these guys. Any comments?

Thanks,
